Oh Hi there! I'm writing about my personal life lately because I want it documented. But feel free to read. (I should probably be a more private person but whatev) 


I decided to go on a mission. Everything pointed toward it and I got a very clear answer from God that I was supposed to go. It was what I was supposed to do.
I meet boy.
Boy and I start dating.
I get my mission papers
and keep dating..
we have fun and keep dating..
Mission is on pause
I feel so confused about life and just conflicted
boy and I keep dating
things between boy and I start dwindling
I realize boy, although he is amazing, is not my prince charming
I decide I really need to still go on a mission
I tell boy
boy tells me this gives him closure because he was feeling like our relationship wasn't right
things end very cordially with boy and I 
I am overcome with peace..a peace I haven't had since the day I very first decided to go on a mission..
a peace that helps me know things are going exactly as they need to be going
a peace that helps me remember that God is the one directing my life
a peace that makes me know that God has the best intentions for me in the plan He has for me.
I am almost done filling out my mission papers.:-)

Which means this weekend I will be here...

Which means I will get to see them...

And I'm just really excited about the whole thing...

Healthy is the New Skinny

Guess what people? You don't have to look like Barbie or a supermodel to be beautiful. That probably sounds cliche, but it's true. I have proof. The new Oprah magazine for the month is now out and I would highly recommend it. The main story in it is "healthy is the new skinny". On the front cover there is a gorgeous model (who according to the fashion industry is a plus size model). The model is nude holding a nude barbie. On her skin are dotted lines that represent "corrections" a plastic surgeon would have to make in order for the model to have a barbie body, or how much she would have to be Photoshopped in order for her to be in a fashion magazine. She is proof that you don't have to look like Barbie to be absolutely drop dead gorgeous. It just shows how unrealistic the world is. The whole article promotes healthy body image. And let me tell you something, it is so refreshing. Call me a  healthy body image advocate, or maybe even a feminist, but  I'm so in love with this article. Check out a summary of it here. Or buy it. I think you'll benefit in reading this

I read this talk by President Uchtdorf called "Forget Me Not". It was from the general relief society meeting. President Uchtdorf talked about the flower called "forget me not"s that are little flowers that are beautiful yet sometimes overlooked. He explained things that we must not forget or overlook in this life. It was so inspiring and refreshing to hear. Here are some quotes from the talk that I loved;

..."be thankful for all the small successes in your home, your family relationships, your education and livelihood, your Church participation and personal improvement. Like the forget-me-nots, these successes may seem tiny to you and they may go unnoticed by others, but God notices them and they are not small to Him. If you consider success to be only the most perfect rose or dazzling orchid, you may miss some of life’s sweetest experiences."

"Our journey toward perfection is long, but we can find wonder and delight in even the tiniest steps in that journey."

"...We can ask ourselves, “Am I committing my time and energies to the things that matter most?” There are so many good things to do, but we can’t do all of them. Our Heavenly Father is most pleased when we sacrifice something good for something far greater with an eternal perspective. Sometimes, that may even mean nurturing small but beautiful forget-me-not flowers instead of a large garden of exotic blooms."

Talking about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory President Uchtdorf says .."So many people today are waiting for their own golden ticket—the ticket that they believe holds the key to the happiness they have always dreamed about. I try to make my blog posts kosher for everyone who reads them, but I want to say something that some of you may not believe, but I believe it to be true and I want to share what I believe with you. 

I want you all to know that I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church upon the earth. It is the only church that has the fullness of God's plan. A plan that makes it so that we can be with our families forever. A plan that brings joy and comfort to our lives. I know that living this plan will bring us lasting joy, a joy that nothing else can bring you. I know this because I have felt this joy that comes from living God's plan and I have felt the sorrow that comes when you do not. God's plan for us is miraculous and perfect. He knows what we need and when we need it, even if we may not want it. He loves us and knows us. He wants us to succeed and does everything He can to help that happen. He is rooting for us. I know that we are not left alone. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there with us every step. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that through him we can reach our full potential, potential that is truly great. Christ loves you perfectly, he knows your struggles, your pain, your happiness, and your desires. He will never ever forget you, for you are engraved onto his hands. How could He forget you?

The Weekend

This weekend was so great. I wish it would've lasted longer. My beautiful friend Kristi got married. Her reception was gorgeous! I sure love her. Then we went to my cabin up above heber friday night until sunday. Sweats, no makeup, four wheeling, meeting the parents, yummy cider and hot chocolate, games, "baby mama", sleeping in, cozy fireplace, snow.. yes please! It was so fun and cozy and just perfect.

also, this girl made me din last night. It was so yummy! I always love spending time with my asian.

Good News

Good News Friday...yep I'm doing it from now on.

2. My friend got married yesterday and it all turned out perfect
3. It's cold (yep I'm crazy and love the cold)
4. I'm alive
5. All my homework for the weekend is done
6. I'm getting paid to blog right now
7. We're going to my cabin tonight which means lots of time with a few of my very favorite people
8. I am drinking mountain dew right now
9. I get to take a nap today
10. My mom sent me this pic of Rowan and it's the dang cutest picture (don't you just want to cuddle her!?)
