Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I am so very grateful for this season and I am especially grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know this post is a picture OVERLOAD, but I haven't updated for a while- I've been way too busy with family fun. (YAY!)

First off I just want to say how grateful I am for this gal, my sister, Alyssa. It is SO fun only being two years apart. Now that we're older we have lots of the same friends. We have a blast together! Love you Lu!

This is my sweet niece singing with my cousin-in-law. It was so dang cute! They sang the "When Christmas Comes to Town" song that's on the Polar Express.

What would the break be without an ugly Christmas sweater party?

My niece and I at the Grand America down town. They have all these AWESOME ginger bread houses.

My sweet nieces.

Doing the Nativity scene on Christmas Eve! (Click here for a beautiful poem about the day Christ was born called "The Nativity Scene" by Annette Weed.)

The adorable headband I got from my sis and brother-in-law. It has lemons on it as a tribute to this blog! Thanks Steph and Jeremy!

All the kiddies on Christmas morning!

This is the present (in progress) I made for my parents.

Here's the end result! It's a family tree made out of corduroy with everything noticeably stitched together. Each leaf has a member of the fam's name on it with my mom and dad on the trunk. I say I'll add to it each year for the new babies born...but who knows if I really will. (Sorry Mom)

Nieces :D

One of the best parts of this break has been Christmas afternoon- getting to talk to my best friend on the phone. He is serving a mission for our church in Canada. Getting to play with his family (who I absolutely LOVE)was so fun too! The cute fam is above gathered around the phone to hear Keaters.

Us one year ago.

Here are some of his cute missions pics.

Such a stud. :-)

Christ mas

So I'm one of those people who get really bugged when people say Xmas. "Merry Xmas!"..drives me crazy because I feel like people who say this are taking the most important part of the holiday, Christ's birth, out of the holiday. I recently just learned that X is actually the ancient symbol of Christ. So, no matter how you say it, "Merry Christmas!", "Merry Xmas" "Happy Christmas Ron" or "Happy Christmas Harry" you're paying tribute to Jesus, the most important part of the holiday.

Just wanted to post this cute picture of my niece wearing my shoes.

Education

Tomorrow and Friday are my last day of classes for this semester. WAHOOO! I just wanted to write a little post about how grateful I am for my education. I'm so thankful that I have the opportunuty to go to school, especially at Utah State. (I love this place.) School is abviously rough sometimes, but it's so worth it!

Dear Handyman

Dear Handyman that came to fix my bathroom fan,

If I was the one who hired you (not my landlord) I would fire you. You left a really gross mess in my bathroom. From stepping on my toilet-with muddy feet, to letting all the gross stuff from my fan fall down onto my bathroom floor (thanks a lot for leaving it there.) Thanks for fixing my fan though.

Happy Monday

A Peter Breinholt Christmas

Saturday night I went to the Peter Breinholt concert at the performance hall on campus. (which by the way is the coolest performance hall ever! -after millions of dollars. Check it out here.) The concert was amazing. (even better being with such a cute boy :) Peter and his band are incredible! I would highly recommend going to his Christmas concert. Him and his band are playing at the Rose Wagner Theater December 16&17 for all you Salt Lake City peeps. You can check out the other dates here. One of the coolest things about the concert was the purcussionist. He sat on a box that played like a drum and played several instruments at once. The show was VERY entertaining, I'm so glad I got to go.

P.S. you know what made this show even beter? Peter and his band did it for free, contributing all of the proceeds to Bear River Mental Health.

Bad Hair Day

Today was one of those days that you notice EVERYONE looking at you when you're walking across campus. At first you are flattered, then you realize what you looked like when you left the house this morning five minutes after waking up.

Pretty Much a Journal Entry..No Need To Read

It seems like everyone's getting married. Two of my best friends from elementary school have recently gotten engaged. I'm so happy for them, they're such great people. Of course this got me thinking about how I want to get married someday..not for a while..definitely after a mission...but someday. My mom always gave me advice to be the person I wanted to marry. I never really took that advice to heart until yesterday. I was really thinking about what the qualities are that I want in my husband and how I really want to develop those qualities before I meet the man I'm going to marry. There are so many things I want in the man of my dreams. And so many things I want to work on so I can be the person that kind of man wants to be with forever. One thing I really want to work on myself is having more meaningful scripture study. Julie B. Beck, the first couselor in the young womens general presidency gave a great talk on scirpture study you can read it here. When I have my own family I want to be able to have meaningful scripture study with them and be able to teach my kids the stories in the scriptures. Honestly I am very scripture illiterate, so I look forward to strengthening my knowledge and testimony of the scriptures.

My Mom Became Old, So We Went to Cali

Last weekend the whole fam went to Disneyland for my mom's 50th birthday. It was such a great trip!

Here's the cute birthday girl! I love you mom, happy birthday!

On this trip I got my niece fix with these sweet two girls. I love them so much!

Me and my brother Matt just acting like cute asians in our sweet matching shirts.

Yes, our whole group had the same shirt for Disneyland. It was so fun! They said "Celebrating 50 Magical Years Happy Birthday Gramma Sug" (my mom thinks she's from the south so we call her that:) then had a silhouette of the Disney castle below it. We were proud to be reping our family pride.

We also had a fabulous party for my mom that included a candy bar (good job Steph!)
Thanks for the picture Paige!

We stayed right on the beach, which was awesome! It was a fabulous trip. Thanks mom and dad!

Movies

Today I bought the first movie I have ever bought with my own money.. what a big girl I am! I just never had the desire to spend twenty bucks on a single movie I could borrow from someone or redbox. But today I decided to buy one of the best movies in the world and start my movie collection. I bought "It's a Wonderful Life". I love that movie! So tonight starts my Christmas movie marathon.

Little Peanut

My beautiful sister-in-law is pregnant with her and my brother's first lil baby. Yesterday they found out what they're having...and... IT'S A GIRL! I'm so dang excited for them! They're going to be such incredible parents. I get the pleasure of living two seconds away from them up here in Logan when they're sweet girl is born. YAY!

Life

I absolutely LOVE this. I found it on someone else's blog and it really is for me. You know when you find something and it's exactly what you needed at that moment in your life? That's how this was for me. When I was younger, just like many other girls, I thought about how my life would be when I grew up. (I actually had a detailed plan.) My life hasn't turned out anywhere near what I've ever thought it would be and you know what? I am so incredibly greatful for that.

PDA (Public Display of Affection)

I think holding hands in public is great and cute maybe a peck, but making out in public is gross. And doesn't it seem like everyone who practices PDA are usually not the people you want to see making out. We love that you love each other but do it not in a Disneyland line, thanks!

(I did have a wonderful (disgusting) picture here to display what I mean by gross PDA, but it grossed me out too bad.)

Surrogacy

This weekend I watched "Baby Mama" probably one of my favorite movies next to "Toy Story 3".

If my religion wasn't against surrogacy (which I'm not too sure if they are or not) I would do it in a flash. You get paid BANK! Is that weird.

It's Just a Game

Tonight we had a big fight with the Humans VS Zombies game. People definitely forgot it was a game.  There were people dropping the f-bomb, people hitting people with their actual nerf guns..not the darts, people yelling at one another, many of the zombies yelling in unison "viva la horde!" (The horde is the group of zombies), people with painted faces, everyone in all black and my personal favorite when we were strategizing as zombies there was one "meathead" (according to Rachel) who yelled to the group "Whoever is in shape and can run fast, besides me, come over here." Ohhh man I wonder if that kid felt stupid when that came out of his mouth.. he probably just thought it made him sound cool. I laughed out loud really loud when he said that and when no one else did, I realized he obviously wasn't joking.

Our headbands say "zombie" this was after we ran after humans and got way into the game we didn't care what we did we just wanted to WIN!.. psyche

There was one point after the game tonight when I heard my cute friend who's a moderator for humans VS zombies saying to a couple guys "I'm sorry if you're points got messed up or something but this is just a game."

P.S. I am now a brunette as of today and really like it.

Just a Happy Thing

A special needs guy that is in the Best Buddies program I volunteer with( http://www.bestbuddies.org/ ) was in line in front of me when I was buying my lunch today and he bought it for me. How kind is that? It made my day. Special needs people truly are so special to me. I love being around them. I'm so thankful that I get to work with these great people who brighten my day so much by just seeing them for the rest of my life. (I'm going into Special Education and Elementary Education).

Sometimes Your Words Just Hypnotize Me

Last night I had the pleasure of going over to Eric (roommates boyfriend) and Co's apatment to be hypnotized. It crazy to me how susceptible the human mind is to hypnosis. We mostly did relaxation hypnosis and it definitely relaxed me. We did a couple other things and one of the exercises actually worked on me..it was weird! Here are a few pics of the extravaganza.

We then finished the night by watching Toy Story 3 - my favorite movie
