My Mormon Message + The Weekend

So I have a new little thing that I'm going to be doing on my blog. I'm calling it "My Mormon Message". I'm just going to journal about things that happen in my life that have to do with God and the things I believe. Some of you might think mormon?-no thanks but actually I bet a lot of what I write you will be able to relate to. If you ever have any questions about what I say let me know or go here for reliable info. 


On friday I got to go hear one of our best basketball players here at USU and his wife speak about living their religion in life. Brady Jardine told a story similar to this: (sorry I can't delete this annoying orange line)

There was a group of women in a Bible study on the book of Malachi. As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three which says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." (Malachi 3:3) This verse puzzled the women and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study. That week this woman called up a silver smith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest in silver beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silver smith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot--then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver. She asked the silver smith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silver smith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?" He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy--when I see my image in it. I LOVE this story. I know that sometimes we wonder why we are given the trials we have in this life and we really think that this one is going to be the end of us. Just remember that God is with us every step and that he will not leave us in our trials a moment too long. He knows how long we need to be in them to learn what we need to so we can become more like Him.  ###################################### Here's what I did this weekend:  We's here in good ol Cache Valley don't do dem floats in the PArade, we do trucks n tractors  Homecoming parade! (yes I am half asleep)  Homecoming game! Elder at the football game

Those butterlies you get when he holds your hand

Lunch with that friend 

That first picture of your sweet baby

Talking to someone you need to talk to more often

That sweet kiss on the forehead

Your day off

That random person that smiles at you

That random person you smile at

The time you get with your loved ones

The best weekend of your life doing absolutely nothing

That opportunity you have to change someone's life forever

Make it count..and cherish it.Cherish the now because "you're gonna miss this".

Long Weekend

I took a long weekend this past week and it was marvelous. 

I got to hang out with some of my very favorite people..

And go to the cabin for some "unplugged" fun..

 

Dear Professors

dear professors that use disgustingly long words to explain a simple matter during your lectures..please stop. I know you think it makes you look like you're smarter and better than us. We all know you got a PHD ok? So really, you can stop. I'd like to learn things and not have to look up your vocabulary every other sentence. Thanks.

Change

So much is a changing around my neck of the woods. Big changes that will change my life forever are a rolling in. And I'm scared. And I'm excited. And I'm so happy. And did I say scared? It's true what people say-just as you get comfortable things will change.. But that is what makes this life, life.

P.S. guess who's in town?! Woot Woot!

This computer lab should be closed..too bad this extremely annoying man won't leave

I'm mean but seriously this guy sucks 

hot date tomorrow...what should I wear?

My vision is going blurry I'm so tired and have been staring at this computer way too long

I should go shut off all the computers and turn off the lights on this guy..then maybe he would leave

I'm glad Autumn and Dane visited me..they are so great

One of Those Days

Some days you just have to be lazy

Wake up well after the sun rises

And still take a long afternoon nap

Watch pointless shows on Lifetime

Eat left overs for dinner

Save the homework for another day

Skip class

Put your pajamas on again in the middle of the day...

Or just never change out of them

Read blogs for a ridiculous amount of time

Not look at that planner or to do list

Cuddle on the most comfy couch in your house

Refresh by doing just about nothing 

NOT WORRY ABOUT ALL THAT STUFF YOU should BE DOING
